Of the two programmes Denel referred to during their presentation, namely the schools outreach and Women in Engineering programmes, the Committee advised that such information should be made available to the public as there were more women doing engineering studies. Denel responded by saying that it had developed a media strategy to communicate information internally and externally. The strategy was supported by a public relations company. The strategy consisted of conveying information to internal and external stakeholders, conducting road shows and engaging with broader stakeholders that were not part of Denel but who were close partners, such as the Department of Defence and Military Veterans and the Department of Science and Technology.
