The CEO maintained that the increase in the amount paid to external auditors was due to the acquisition of Congo Express and the auditing of areas that were not audited before. SAX had outsourced the internal audit function to KPMG and was pleased with the work of both the internal and external auditors. On the question of cadets, the CEO undertook to send the information to the Committee, as he did not have it at hand. Mr Hermanus added that he did not have the exact figures but that the cadets were recruited from throughout the country. It was also reported that SAX owned 51% of Congo Express Airlines, but that SAX was in the process of taking over a greater share of the entity.
