Mr Adam said that the first set of severance packages was voluntary. The second set was a negotiated package. It was his opinion that the employees who received the negotiated packages received better severance packages than the employees who left voluntarily. The packages were quite fair compared to what people normally received. Mr Adam commented that the Committee should not blame itself for performing inadequate oversight. Members could beat themselves up about it, but there were certain things that they could not have foreseen such as Westinghouse pulling out.
