. Reviewing the contradiction between the risk plan "possible failure or delay of a major project / contract" (page 19 of Strategic Plan) and Strategic Objective 6.1 as the baseline "80% of employees trained in line with Workplace Skills Plan" (page 36 of strategic plan). The risk cause was said to be the shortage of experienced managers and yet the strategic objective indicated high training levels; . Revise the target percentage of signed performance agreements (PAs) indicator to reflect 100% (page 37 of Strategic Plan); . On the "number of significant river systems meeting ecological water requirement" indicator (page 41 of the Strategic Plan), the Portfolio Committee suggested that the Department should prioritise rivers affected with Acid Mine Drainage. The Strategic Plan should reflect that the Department would produce reports specifically on those two (2) targeted river systems; . The Strategic Plan should clearly indicate reserve determination targets under the "ecological reserve determination" output (page 41 of the Strategic Plan). In addition, the strategic plan should include that going forward as well as the incremental status of when the reserve determination was finalised per financial year; . "Strategic Objective 2.5: Protection of water resources" (page 41 of the Strategic Plan) must include a clear (rather than implicit) performance target on dam quality; . The water resource infrastructure list should include a target for the Nandoni Pipeline on pages 27-28 of the Strategic Plan; . The drought relief grant amounting to R450 million indicated as additional budget should be listed under mega projects category (page 27- 30 of the Strategic Plan) as when details were provided by the Department, dealing with providing water to the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro; and . Include timeframes for indicators in the Strategic Plan that were not time-specific.
