The two barracks inspected by the Members of the Committee (Liesbeek Block A and B) were both in a very poor condition in terms of the low levels of maintenance of infrastructure and in terms of the poor degree of cleanliness. While the corridors in front of the rooms were swept and relatively clean, the entrance, landing areas and staircases were filthy and encrusted with dust and dirt. Broken flooring and holes in the ceiling were observed in a number of areas.
