The total number of cases in the branch was said to be 651. It was reported that, on average, a detective carried about 50 dockets. The smallest caseload was around 14 dockets, with 71 dockets being the biggest caseload a detective could carry. The overall detection rate was stated to be 45%. The average detection rate for rape, assault GBH and murder, respectively, was 38.4 per cent, while it was 42 per cent for property crimes. The disposal rate was said to be 35%. It was further stated that average conviction rates were as follows: rape - 27%, murder - 69%, property crime - 62% and 69% for assault GBH. In the previous financial year, 1 630 dockets had been closed as undetected, with only two that had gone missing.
