The average experience for detectives was 15 years, and it seemed satisfactory to the branch commanders. The youngest detectives were in their early twenties, while the oldest were in their mid-fifties. Although most detectives had been trained previously, the younger ones still needed to go for training. The station, however, was only allowed to send two detectives for training per year. Whilst the station seemed not to experience problems with incorrectly formulated charges, it had challenges with poorly taken statements. The branch commander conducted daily docket inspections as well as monthly inspections.
