When students had completed their training they were placed under the supervision of the FTOs (Field Training Officers). Sometimes, however, they would be assigned to underperforming police stations, which affected their progress. In this regard, the Committee was concerned about the future of the recruited police members, as they were discouraged by underperforming police officers, and they could possibly end up in corrupt activities. It was proposed that there should be a constant link between the FTOs and training colleges, even after the training course had been completed to ensure that recruits acquire proper training, and also to identify pitfalls within the curriculum.
