Committee deliberations . Legal fees - according to ITAC the R2m in legal fees was paid to the State Attorney, who handles 95% of ITAC's cases. Costs have also been shared where other departments are involved. . Costs of job advertisements - ITAC indicated that the costs for job advertisements increase if more than one advertisement is placed, because of more space in the newspaper. ITAC, however, endeavor to place 2 or 3 advertisements together as it is less expensive than placing individual adverts. . Amendments to the ITA Act - ITAC admitted that they will not be able to meet the October 2010 target for amendments on the ITA Act. ITAC is currently engaging with the Minister and senior officials in the department. . Flowers and gifts in budget - according to ITAC, flowers and gifts are included in the budget. Flowers are bought to decorate the reception area of the ITAC offices and also sent to employees who might be hospitalized or bereaved. Gifts are only given to foreign delegations with the approval of the Chief Commissioner. . Remuneration of board members: o Chairperson - R3 526 per meeting - 12 meetings per year - the Chairperson also receives R146,92 per hour for preparation time, which is about 5 hours per meeting o Ordinary member - R2 623 per meeting - 12 meetings per year - the ordinary members also receives R109,50 per hour for preparation time, which is about 5 hours per meeting o The Chief Commissioner and Deputy Chief Commissioner is not included in this remuneration.
