Deliberations . Quality of decisions: The CT indicated that it needs to justify its decisions and that they must be well-reasoned, and in this regard, the CT has a good record and needs to maintain this standard. The Chairperson of the CT indicated that the CT partially changes every 5 years, with the result that expertise needs to be kept in the system. . Internship programme: The programme is currently a pilot programme. Currently, the CT has 3 interns on the programme. Two (2) of these interns are females and one (1) is male ( put differently, two interns are from Botswana and one is from Nigeria). These students are from the University of Pretoria, who also does the selection. These students come to the CT for 2 to 4 weeks during the mid-year to perform various administrative functions. The Chairperson of the CT indicated that, if the pilot is successful, the CT will consider expanding the programme in the future. The University of Pretoria (UP) approached the CT with the proposal of introducing the internship programme. The CT noted that it was convenient to work with the UP, because of their close proximity to the CT. . Time frames of decisions: The CT indicated that, if the case is uncomplicated, it might take 10 days of the referral from the CC. The CT noted that the targets set are based on the large number of the previous cases dealt with by the CT. . Who is informed of the reasons of the decisions: The CT stated that the reasons were given to all relevant stakeholders/parties.
