The Committee noted that the infrastructure grant to provinces was intended for the rehabilitation of existing health, education, road and agricultural infrastructure. The committee further noted that little work had apparently been done on agriculture, even though the grant had been increased to cater for the replacement of "mud schools" and repair of coal haulage routes. The Committee would like to urge provincial treasuries to take action in cases of corruption, and suggests that National Treasury should step in to assist.
