(1) What steps did he take to mediate between Cycling South Africa (CSA) and the Cape Town City Council to ensure a transparent and open consultation process with all interested parties, in light of CSA’s application for an urgent court interdict against the Cape Town City Council to halt construction at the Bellville Velodrome track cycling facility set to start at the end of March this year; (2) whether he has taken any steps to ensure that during the construction process CSA is provided with sufficient alternative facilities that are of the same Olympic standard as the specified venue; if not, what steps will he take to stop the construction process before the end of March this year; (3) what steps will he take to ensure that upon completion of the upgrade the specified venue is readily available for the sport and will not be encroached upon by alternative entertainment events and concerts to the detriment of track cyclists’ preparation to compete and win medals in the Commonwealth and Olympic Games and other international sports events?
