(1) With regard to Statistics South Africa’s findings of a trend of low productivity and loss of job opportunities in the agricultural, mining and manufacturing sectors, with the agricultural sector having the biggest net loss of 9,8%, what (a) proactive and (b) retroactive intervention steps were taken by his department specifically to (i) restrict (aa) the decreasing productivity and (bb) job losses and (ii) rectify this position in support of higher economic growth; (2) would he use the economic development model of the Western Cape in other provinces in support of a more productive and lucrative agricultural sector; if not, why not?
