(1) Whether, with regard to a certain person (name furnished) who fatally shot himself after being convicted for car theft in the Ekangala Court on 12 January 2006, there are any mechanisms in place to carry out searches at the Ekangala Court on (a) persons entering the court as observers and (b) awaiting-trial prisoners; if not, why not; if so, what mechanisms; (2) whether these mechanisms were in place on 12 January 2006; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details; (3) (a) how many (i) SA Police Service (SAPS) members and/or (ii) private security guards were on duty and (b) what is the (i) name, (ii) SAPS persal number and (iii) security company or security company identification number of each member/guard on duty; (4) whether these guards were able to carry out emergency medical treatment to the said person; if not, why not; if so, (a) what are the relevant details and (b) how long did it take for the emergency medical personnel to arrive at the scene of the incident; (5) whether his department will provide the names and contact details of those persons who were in court who witnessed the shooting; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details; (6) whether any trauma counselling was given and/or offered to (a) those people that witnessed the shooting incident on 12 January 2006 and (b) the family of the said person; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?
