(1) Whether a monitoring mechanism is in place to determine (a) the number of learners affected by substance abuse and (b) which grades are mainly affected; if so, what are the relevant statistics for the (i) 2012, (ii) 2013 and (iii) 2014 calendar years; (2) what is the measured impact of the life orientation curriculum on the prevalence of substance abuse of learners; (3) whether she has interacted with school principals and school governing bodiess at primary school level to determine the number of learners who may be affected by substance abuse; if not, why not?
