71. Mr TD Harris (DA-WC) to ask the Minister of Police:
(1) Whether the SA Police Service has taken any decision to move the
Woodstock police station from its current premises to a certain
building (details furnished); if not, (a) who is responsible for
taking such a decision and (b) why has it not been taken; if so, who
is the current owner of the building;
(2) whether the owner has (a) transferred or (b) allocated the building
to the SAPS; if not, what is the position in this regard; if so, what
processes has to be completed before the move can take place;
(3) whether there is any date by which the move should have taken place;
if not, what is the position in this regard; if so, what are the
relevant details?

REPLY:
1) Yes, the South African Police has taken a decision to move the
Woodstock police station to the site at the Grootte Schuur Hospital
situated at Moore Paragon Building.
(2)(a)&(b) No, the process of acquiring the site has been placed on hold
until such time that funds are available to fund the project.
(3) No, the move will only take place once the new building is completed.
