1 (a) This is a renovation project and the contractor, Tsile Projects,
was appointed in August 2007 and progressed very slowly until
contract termination in 2009.
The work/progress registered since 2008 is that the contractor
did the foundations, ground slab and brick work up to the Lintel
level. The second contractor appointed in 2010 withdrew from the
project before he could start, citing ill health. Therefore no
work was done by the second contractor. The Department then
proceeded to appoint a third contractor in December 2011.
Â
(b)Â The third contractor, Sincindi Projects, was appointed in
December 2011.
Â
(c) (i)Â The contractor was appointed for the amount of R7 240
946.74
Â
(ii) The only cost incurred is R 1 073 235.00 paid to the first
contractor for the work done in 2009.

2. The projected completion date is 21 February 2013
