REPLY:
(1) The Eastern Cape Provincial Department of Health has taken over 12
hospitals from April to June 2010 and 3 additional hospitals in July
2010. The Province is planning to take over the other 7 hospitals by
January 2011.
(2) and (3) The Province is currently looking at future plans on how these
facilities will be funded and managed, including whether a
public private partnership would be an appropriate approach.
END.
