REPLY:
1. Yes , the Minister of Sport and Recreation the Minister of SRSA sent
Mr Brian Currin, an experienced mediator and negotiator to meet with
the President of IAAF in Monaco
He was retained by Dewey & LeBoeuf (Caster Semenyaâs legal team) and
was therefore more knowledgeable on the matter.
The Government and Mokgadiâs lawyers reached an agreement with the
IAAF on the following issues:
Because Mokgadi has been found to be innocent of any wrong she would
then:
⢠Retain her gold medal
⢠Retain her title of 800m World Champions
⢠Retain her prize money.
Further on Government agreed with the IAAF whatever the scientific tests
were conducted legally within the IAAF regulations will be treated as a
confidential matter between patient and doctor. As such there will be no
public announcement of what the panel of scientist has found.
