(1) (a) What is the support for his claim (details furnished) that it is the Government that is leading a vigorous and successful fight against corruption in all three spheres of government as well as within state-owned enterprises; (2) whether the Government is following the example of the People’s Republic of China where leaders and the top brass in the Government are being brought to book since 2009 without fear, hesitation, hedging or favour to serve as an example to all; if so, (a) what are the full details of senior politicians and top officials in the Government who were arrested and successfully prosecuted for corrupt acts without being first exposed by the media, (b) how many officials who approved tenders outside the strict provisions of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Act 1 of 1999 and/or Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA), Act 56 of 2003 in the last five years had tough legal action taken against them and (c) what specific punitive action has the Government taken against implicated officials in each (i) sphere of government and (ii) of the past five years, upon the release of the report of the Auditor-General in respect of (aa) futile and fruitless expenditure and for (bb) not adhering to the PFMA or MFMA; (3) whether he will make a statement on his specific role and the success achieved as a result thereof in leading the campaign against corruption in (a) all spheres of government and (b) state-owned entities?
