R2K Mass Meeting: “Defend Democracy! Hands off our Parliament!”

R2K

The Right2Know Campaign invites everyone concerned by the unrest which took place in Parliament during the President’s State of the Nation Address on Thursday, 12 February, to a candle light vigil. R2K believes that this was an attack on democracy in Parliament.

We call on the people of Cape Town to come in your numbers and send a clear message to those that aim to undermine our hard-won democracy.

Speakers have been invited from the National Editors Forum, United Front, Religious Leaders Forum, and communities around Cape Town. Jane Duncan, author of Rise of the Securocrats, will also make an input.

Date: Thursday 19 February 2015 Time: 18h00 Venue: Central Methodist Church, Longmarket Street, Cape Town.

What you can do:

  • Attend the candle light vigil
  • Spread the word using the A4 Poster and A5 pamphlets
  • Invite friends to the event via R2K’s Facebook page
