Hon Speaker, the South African Broadcasting Corporation celebrated its 75th year of existence on 1 August 2011. South Africans, our public broadcaster has moved from being a bilingual radio station in Afrikaans and English to the current 18 radio stations in all 11 official languages, and three television channels.
The public broadcaster has continued to excel in keeping South African citizens educated, informed, entertained and inspired throughout the years. The ANC therefore congratulates the national public broadcaster for leading us to its 75th birthday.
