Hon members, earlier on hon Hunsinger raised a point of order on the use of the expression "I will use the language of the oppressor". The Constitution gives equality to all official languages in the country. To denigrate by for example referring to any of them as a language of the oppressor is to imply that the speakers of that language are themselves oppressors. This language is divisive and cannot be tolerated in a constitutional dispensation. I Rule that the expression is unparliamentary and I would like to ask hon Boshoff to stand. Hon Boshoff, you can have your microphone on. Will you, please, withdraw?
I withdraw.
Thank you very much. You may take your seat. Hon Paulsen, I want you to stand. Hon Paulsen, what I have just said also has to do with what you said at the end. I will not repeat but just to ask you to withdraw. Hon Paulsen, you may leave the House if you will not apologise. Hon Paulsen, please, leave the House. Please, leave the House. Please, leave the House! Thank you. We continue, hon members. Order, hon members! As we continue I will ask the ... Order! I'm going to ask the Secretary to read the First and the Second Orders together.
The member, having disregarded the authority of the Chair, was ordered to withdraw from the Chamber for the remainder of the day's sitting.
The member thereupon withdrew from the Chamber.
