There are a total of 21 detectives though according to the RAG there should be 37. Thus there is clearly a shortage of detectives at the station. The detectives stated that in fact 37 detectives would not be enough and that they need about 60 detectives to function optimally. The average experience of the detectives is about three to five years. Only six of the detectives had completed the two-week detective training course and only seven had completed the three month course. At the current rate of training opportunities it would take at least five years for all detectives to be trained.
