QUESTION:
(1) Whether the audit committee of her department has held any regular
quarterly meetings in the past financial year as required in the
guidelines of the National Treasury and the Auditor-General; if not,
why not; if so, how many meeting were held as at 30 September 2012;
(2) Whether the (a) findings against and (b) recommendations to her
department by the Auditor-General in the past financial year were
implemented; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?

MINISTER OF LABOUR:
1. Yes, the Audit Committee has quarterly meetings as required in the
guidelines of the National Treasury and the Auditor-General.
The Committee held five (5) meetings during the 2011/12 financial year and
four (4) meetings during the period April to September 2012, which is as
follows:
⢠18 April 2012 (Special meeting with the Minister)
⢠28 May 2012
⢠15 June 2012
⢠27 July 2012
2. Yes, the Department compiled an Audit Action Plan which has been
submitted to the Office of the Auditor-General, as well as the Office
of the Accountant-General, detailing steps being taken by the
Department to address the AGâs findings and recommendations.
