REPLY:
(a) The Honourable President, Mr Jacob G Zuma indicated in his State of the
Nation Address that a review of visa regulations would be prioritised to
strike a balance between national security and growth in tourism. In line
with his review, an Immigration Task Team was established in September 2014
between the Department of Home Affairs and key stakeholders in the tourism
and aviation industry, as well as relevant government departments, as a
vehicle for on-going engagement on the implementation of the recently
introduced visa regulations. At this stage no formal amendments are under
consideration.
(b) The question is not applicable in light that there are no amendments
under consideration.
